Interactive Automobile Construction ... we made history! Project33 is a 1933 Ford 3-window highboy coupe that was built on-line and documented in a step-by-step fashion. Over 35 sponsors were a part of the project along with many talented people whom offered their time and expertise. This is truly a great hobby, filled with excellent vendors and manufacturers who are there when you need them and fellow hobbyists who are some of the nicest most talented people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. As many as 22,000 visitors per day logged in to watch and participate in the progress during the six year build (eight if you count two summers of final tweaking). The stumbling blocks, head scratching and do-over’s were documented with everything else along the way and consequently has given hope to those who have questioned if they have what it takes to build their dream car. Project33 made its public debut at the 2004 SEMA show in Las Vegas, while still unfinished. It has since been shown at the 2005 HRR show in Indianapolis and several local South Dakota shows. It has appeared in several magazines (in various countries) and on national television. The car was sold in July of 2011 and the next project is currently underway. I would like to formally thank all of the sponsors of Project33 as well as the many people who helped, for their involvement in this historic build. It was an educational and rewarding project, but most of all it was FUN and the car couldn’t have turned out better.
